DGN drawing to Powerpoint or Word

Have anyone of you try to put the DGN drawing into a powerpoint or word document? Instead of doing MDL load Oleserve, Oleserve viewcopy process?
By using the plotdriver “jpeg.plt” or “emf.plf” file driver you can easily cut and paste the plotfile product to office programs.
For plot driver “jpeg.plt” don’t forget to change and edit the jpeg.plt background color “pen(0)=/rgb=(254, 254, 254)” using notepad or a text editor of your choice. Hope this tips helps.

I have a Microstation plot driver that I created for inserting our CAD drawings into MS Word or Powerpoint documents. It produces a 600 dpi vector graphics file that is small in size, very stable (colors, fonts, line weights and line styles are preserved just the way they appear in Microstation), high resolution ( 600 dpi ), resizable within Word and much more efficient than using raster files like JPEGs or TIFFs. The plotted output will match the output we get plotting with IPLOT from within Microstation itself. It will work with the SE , J , v8 -2004 versions of Microstation. All you need to do is place the driver in the directory with your other Microstation plot drivers. I usually create the .emf files at 75% of the page size to make sure it easily fits between the Word document’s header and footer. If necessary, you can enlarge the picture in Word after insertion. ***
Emf2word.plt — A Microstation plot file for outputting CAD files to MS Word or Powerpoint documents. This one allows an .emf plot file to be created and written to disk for ANSI A and B size drawings. This .emf file is embedded in the Word document using Insert>Picture>FromFile. It can be resized to fit between header and footer by single clicking once on the inserted picture, then increasing or decreasing its size by using the “handles” on the corners. If you insert a blank line above and then a blank space to the left of the insertion point at your cursor location, this will allow you to freely move the picture around on your page in Word. If you don’t do this and use the default cursor location in the upper left corner of the page, Word will anchor the picture in that upper left corner and you will not be able to move it out of that corner. Note some line styles may not display properly on the screen in Word at full-page mode. This is a display-related problem. When zoomed-in fully, they display properly ; they also print and plot properly. This plot file has been optimized for use with HP Designjet 600 dpi inkjet plotters ( such as the 650C , 750C , 1055C , 2500C , 4000C ).

Wouldn’t a pdf suffice? Those can be saved in color just as they appear on the screen as well.
