I would have put a picture here but it seems the forum formating wont let me

any way in v8i you can turn on manipulate as element in the ref manager dialog box and then place a fence around your ref and objects and  just use the move icon with use fence to move the ref and  active file elements… then turn off  maip as element otherwise you might delete  it by accident…

We're using different terms, but I think I got it.

You have a reference attached. Then you have in the master file (file that contains the reference) some additional elements. You want to select the reference and the additional elements in the master file and shift them all as a group. Correct?

I'm pretty sure this is impossible in one step but I have some gurus I can check with. Please confirm that this is what you need to do. Also, is it just the one file or multiple files that you need to do this for?

Hey thanks for reply. What I am trying to do is move a title block (xref'd) along an xref'd profile as well as the text and north arrow/scale as a group. In AutoCad I am able to pick the title block (xref) as well as anything else I want to select. I am trying to figure out if I can do the same in V8. So far I have to move the title block first then everything else in 2 parts. Does that make sense? I can rock in Acad but I am wanting to learn Micro as well. Oh and yes civil :)

I'm not clear on what you are trying to do.

1. When you say "Move elements", do you mean the elements in the reference, or the elements in the sheet/master file?

2. How do you want to move the reference? Do you mean you want to move the clipping boundary, you want to move the elements in the reference or you actually want the reference to be referenced somewhere else in the file?

I'm betting this is civil work and you want the reference attached to a different location in the master file and you want to move the elements in the master file shifted to align with the shifted reference.

Are you talking one file or a bunch?

Hey guys, is there a way to move elements AND an xref at the same time? I am still learning micro V8. I was told it can not be done. Any help would be great!
